BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is a communications protocol standard (ASHRAE/ANSI 135, ISO 16484-5) designed specifically for building automation and control systems. BACnet enables interoperability between different manufacturers' building automation devices, allowing HVAC, lighting, fire safety, and access control systems to communicate on a common network.
