AHU (Air Handling Unit)
A central HVAC system component that conditions and circulates air throughout a building.
Full Definition
An Air Handling Unit (AHU) is a large metal box containing components that condition and circulate air as part of a building's HVAC system. It typically includes filters, heating/cooling coils, fans, dampers, and mixing boxes. AHUs draw in outside air, mix it with return air, filter and condition it (heat, cool, humidify, or dehumidify), and distribute it to occupied spaces through ductwork.
