FAQ
Everything you need to know about Syyclops—quick answers, clear insights.
What is a digital twin, and why is it valuable?
A digital twin is a dynamic, real-time representation of a physical facility, allowing users to monitor and interact with operations in a digital environment.
How does a digital twin improve facility management?
It provides real-time insights into asset conditions, energy usage, space utilization, and system performance, enhancing decision-making and long-term planning.
Can a digital twin help with facility upgrades?
Yes, digital twins enable predictive analysis, allowing managers to anticipate problems, test solutions virtually, and plan for renovations, expansions, or technology upgrades efficiently.
How does Syyclops improve work order management?
Syyclops replaces manual work order tracking methods like email and spreadsheets with a structured system, ensuring better organization, transparency, and efficiency.
Can historical work order data be analyzed?
Yes, users can review past work orders to identify recurring issues, optimize maintenance schedules, and allocate resources more effectively, leading to long-term cost savings.
Why is centralized note-taking beneficial?
By using a built-in note system, users reduce reliance on scattered emails and external documents. This ensures information remains accessible and is not lost due to miscommunication or turnover.
How does Syyclops handle facility notes?
Users can create detailed notes attached to a facility, individual spaces, or specific components. Notes can include text, images, videos, and documents for comprehensive record-keeping. Notes help maintain a historical record of renovations, maintenance, and asset details over time, providing continuity and valuable insights for long-term projects.
What does the Facility Condition Assessment feature provide?
Users can access a complete facility condition assessment with multiple visual tools, including a bar graph projecting asset conditions for 20+ years, a digital twin highlighting asset urgency, and a detailed data table.
Why is facility condition tracking important?
Monitoring critical assets helps prevent failures, supports long-term capital planning, and enables informed budgeting for replacements and maintenance.
How can users update facility condition data?
Users can input install dates and attributes that affect replacement costs, ensuring condition data remains accurate and supports proactive maintenance planning.
How can I search for documents in Syyclops?
Users can quickly search for document content using a basic search bar, which retrieves and displays relevant documents. For deeper insights, the AI Engineer can answer questions and provide citations from the documents, improving contextual understanding.
How does the AI Engineer assist with problem-solving?
The AI Engineer helps users troubleshoot facility-related issues by analyzing historical data, asset conditions, and past maintenance records. It synthesizes relevant information into clear, actionable responses. Instead of manually researching and gathering scattered information, users receive instant insights, accelerating problem resolution and reducing costly delays in maintenance and operations.
What live data does Syyclops monitor?
Syyclops tracks real-time environmental conditions such as space comfort, humidity, and occupancy levels to help optimize facility operations. These points are based on existing or installed IOT devices and sensors.
How can we rely on AI-generated content in the context of digital twins?
All AI responses have to be checked for accuracy. At Syyclops, we create a bounded knowledge box for the AI systems to access as they provide answers. Asking why my building is hot, can only be answered if the AI LLM is accessing the unique building’s data set. This answer will still need to be vetted by a competent professional, but our job at Syyclops is to help bring higher levels of certainty to uncertain situations. Like any troubleshooting exercise in buildings, there is never an instant answer, but to reach a solution is an iterative process.
Is it just BAS?
It is not a BAS, but a mirror screen of your BAS. When clients have dozens of buildings, all with various graphic interfaces, there is a continuity factor when all BAS graphics are standardized as we do in Syyclops. At this stage of development, we are read only for the BAS graphics with no control. BAS and EPMS control is done at the existing BAS system.
Can your tool handle Quantity Take Offs (QTO) for a digital twin?
There are some instants where the accuracy of extracting information from schedules is very high. However, taking schedule information and then comparing to the floor plans is still in development.
Can the AI troubleshoot and provide the error possibilities?
We are currently developing potential errors scenarios that will be presented to e operator. If our system has access to the building’s data, both BAS and documents, we can run through solution scenarios in our AI engineer. The user would simply ask, “Here is my problem …, check the documents and the knowledge graph for 5 possible solutions”
Is Syyclops based on a token based cost or subscription cost year to year?
It is subscription based with three levels charge by building with unlimited users. Typically, it is in the $200-$800/month per building. It will vary based on the current integrations that are present.
By utilizing temperature and relative humidity sensors, can you assess occupant comfort and mechanical/envelope thermal performance?
Syyclops defines all of the critical assets in the building and then using our domain knowledge provides a remaining useful life. These values are displayed in our Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) module. To assess occupant comfort and thermal performance, Syyclops will require a data feed for those values. If we are to compare occupant comfort to ASHRAE 55 standards, then yes it is available in our anomaly detection module.
What features are AI-powered besides the LLM chat-bot?
We use AI to tag and classify assets automatically, estimate replacement costs, and predict end-of-life. We're also exploring anomaly detection for proactive maintenance. Our AI system also interfaces with the unique building’s knowledge graph
Is data stored independently from systems including BAS and energy management or just viewed live? What level of access and control does the owner have over it?
Yes, data is stored in a Postgres database with TimescaleDB. It’s completely independent from the BAS and energy systems. Owners can access it through the app or via API.
What on-site equipment from Syyclops, if any, is needed for data collection?
We install a Voltron BACnet gateway that connects to the building network, reads BACnet points, and streams them to our cloud using MQTT.
